Mana Pounamu Nomination Process

Who can be nominated?
From each Otago secondary school, one Teina (Years 9–11) and one Tuakana (Years 12–13) student may be nominated.
Recipients are recognised for excellence across one or more of the following areas:
- Cultural
- Leadership
- Academic
- Community
- Sporting
What needs to be included?
Please provide the following when completing the online application:
- School testimonial
A statement from the school supporting the nomination. - Whānau endorsement
We acknowledge the vital role whānau play in shaping the success and identity of our rangatahi. While schools submit the nomination, a whānau endorsement adds depth and strengthens the application.
Whānau are encouraged to highlight achievements beyond the classroom, including cultural involvement, responsibilities at home or within the community, and personal growth. - Photo of the recipient
